if you have the cases split and cleaned, I have been told by KG coatings to help remove all oil from the cases clean them good, then use a acetone/mek to wash the oils off. Then put the cases in the oven for 2 hours around 200 degrees or so. this will help draw more oil out of the cases then wash one more time with acetone.

No primer under my PJ1 satin either. Cleaned, scuffed, alcohol wipe & spray about 3 or 4 coats allowing them to become "tacky" in between.

Washed the whole thing in Brakleenm immediatly before starting to paint...best/easiest degreaser I've found.

Yeah, kind of a pain. But it only takes me about 15-20 minutes to tape up each one.

And to think that as soon as I'm done with them, they are going on ebay.

                I just bought these:

Nice smoothbores Bruce! Do you have to run different intake boots or open up the intake ports to accommodate those 33s?

I think they fit straight on, But I'm not sure. The reason I bought them is because RapidRay thought they might compliment my mods better. My intake ports have already been ported a bit. I'll see how well they match up to the carbs.

I was always under the impression that the VM29's and VM33's had the same spacing? I know the 29's fit straight on, no mods needed. I think that you have to modify them if you use them on 1100's and 1150's. But maybe I'm wrong.

They bolt right on the 1100 and 1150 sixteen valve. These are the carbs they used in the early days for an upgrade to the CVs.

Well, hopefully the spacing is the same. I can get boots for a larger intake size.
