for fun hold on to the 29's and give both a try, see what works best, maybe even get to a dyno and try both and get some hard numbers.

      33's

      Bruce,
The 33's have a larger spigot at the head than the 29's. Sudco sells the boots you need to mount those carbs to your head.

Well, I finished the VM29 carbs.

But I'm going with VM33's instead! So the 29's are for sale on ebay.

I'll of course need to paint them black and shine them up. OH, will I EVER be done?

Those carbs seem to be going for a good price on ebay. I saw them up to $695 the other day, good job. Where did you get those little aluminum choke plungers from?

They are up to $710.00 now. Plus $100.00 for the velocity stacks if wanted.

I got two sets of the choke plunger spools from a seller on ebay. I just tried to get some more from him, but he's no longer a registered member. I wish I had another set.

                      Hey Guys,

I haven't done much lately. Been working alot. Just finishing up rebuilding a set of VM29's for Tom, then I'll start dipping and painting the VM33's. They are actually already jetted close (I think), so no parts to buy.

The motor still needs the head put on and the cams degreed. If I'm not working this weekend, I plan on getting that done. Then the motor will get put on the shelf so I can then start getting the frame ready. I have a friend that will be helping me do the frame bracing. Then eventually get the frame powdercoated and all back together.

I feel your pain...my Ole Girl is sitting up on a jackstand with suspension, awaiting Bandit transplants. Have most of the stuff, but have no business spending any more money at the moment, so she patiently waits...I did pull my bro-in-law's 63 F100 out the garage and wash it, though. took it for a spin too!! That helped put a smile on my face

                                Anyone still subscribed to this?

My garage is clean and the new motor in the wife's impala is in , so time to get back on track with this build. I have pretty much everything I need to finish putting the motor back together. I have some cam sprockets on the way thanks to a fellow GSR member, and trying to find some aftermarket cams. I have some cams from an 1100 GK...I was told once that they are a hotter cam, so I can use those for now if I have to.

                                Things left to do:

                                Install and degree cams.
Get the frame and misc. parts blasted and powdercoated.
Do some minor work on the wiring harness.
Get the wheels polished and painted.
Get the paintwork done on the body parts.
                                Re-assemble everything.
Do the wiring including the coil relay mod.

The blasting/powdercoating/painting has already been bartered for, so mostly I just need to do the labor to get it done.
