I had that same exact pipe on my 700 for a while "back in the day".

It gives the bike a really throaty rumble, but is not excessively loud.

This draws me to ask the question, and it may be stupid, but i need to know since I will be working on one of these bikes relatively soon...

Will a GS1100E header NOT fit on the 83 and up 700/750? Did they change the spacing for those motors? If so, we're gonna have to come up with an exhaust for this bike...

No, it won't fit. The exhasut port spacing on the '83 on 750 is closer than on the previous incarnations.

The spacing is the same as on the early GSXRs, however....

Managed to get my recently purchased '83 750ES running today. Sounds great with the stock pipes - I love that quiet stealth sound. If the exhaust on this thing wasn't as nice as it is, I'd buy that header for sure. Someone is going to get a nice deal.

NOT true!!! I repeat, NOT true! The spacing is the SAME!!! The difference is the pipe diameter where it goes into the head is bigger on the 1100 & it CAN be modified(ground down) to fit! Hope this helps, Ray.

Ray is right, it's port diameter that is different. Pipe spacing is the same as the 1100.
