    Taper-bored carbs....

Anyone run these modded carbs? Seems to be popular with the rec. vehicle/off road crowd. I understand the carb spigot I.D. is bored with a progressively decreasing diameter. The advantage (claimed) is a significant increase in flow rate, characteristic of installing a larger carb, without any loss of low/midrange performance benefits of the smaller non-bored carb. Too good to be true?

    Tony.

Think of what happens when a wide river suddenly becomes narrow. Same thing happens to air flow.
