Comprehensive list of caliper and rotor candidates

I had been putting together a list of all possible candidates for rotors for the Tokico twinpot caliper swap, so I thought I'd share this info that I've gathered from all over the internet. Some of the sources may not be 100% accurate, so check measurements/photos before handing over any cash, but hope this will help out those searching for parts.

A few of the 296mm rotors have a 21.5/22/23mm offset already, but they are almost impossible to find used, where as the 74mm pcd 296mm rotors are readily available for $75 give or take used. If you have luck finding them, I think the 78mm PCD 296's will be the easiest to drill out accurately using my drill press method of aligning with drill bit of existing hole size, clamping down, swapping to ~8mm-ish drill bit.

I have also listed a few 310mm rotors, which are also useable, as the Tokico twinpot calipers' pads are skinnier than the friction surface height of any of these Honda rotors, but with the 310, you will have about 4mm of excess rotor on the outside that is unused. by slightly angling the caliper, you can get a full sweep over the drilled area of the rotors. This all takes custom modifications to the brackets or different custom adapters, or just use a dremel and grind off the edge of the pad that will hang over 1mm on the single disc application. The 78mm PCD 296mm rotors with Salty's kit is by far the most painless setup.

Awesome thread and a fantastic service!

Wondering if there is an official say on whether this will work with the 450's or not. I'm interested in doing the CBR rotor and twinpot caliper as a single disc set-up to avoid replacing the forks.

Any ideas? What would a single side set-up run me for the hub spacer, caliper mount/spacer? (Assuming that this will even be bolt on for the 450)

It's not been tried as yet but the prelim work I have done with Pete in Australia suggests that it will fit...

You can be the guinea pig if I have an odd bracket if you like. I am really low on sets of this stuff now.

Those brakes are great on an 1100, they would kick ass on a 450.

With the CBR rotors bolted straight up (no spacers) to a GS wheel what is the rotor to rotor spacing? I figure the answer is somewhere in the thread already but after reading through about half of it I figured it may just be faster to ask. Thanks in advance for a reply!

Did you ever get a kit made for an early 550? Or would the kit work, as is?

If it's dual front disc, I think it will be just like all the others upgrading to the twinpot setup.

Single disc early 550 will require different bracket angle and location, and you can then fit larger rotors on - 310mm is a decent fit.

I have a very nice Chrome Twin-pot Brake Caliper that might work. It's been fully rebuilt and comes with new pads. Looking to get $45 + shipping. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks, but I am wanting to go from a single to a dual disc set up. Getting the brake components isn't the issue, at the moment. It is the spacer and bracket kit that I am asking about. I don't have access to an end mill or lathe so fabricating those parts by hand is not as ideal as having them machined.

I can get a set of forks from an 82 GS550M, fairly cheap, and want to know if the Salty_Monk kit would bolt up.

I guess I would need to go ahead and get the forks to figure out if the caliper bosses are in the same location.
