    850 CVs on a 77 750?

    would this be a worth while upgrade for a 750 orig. w/ vm26s to go to CVs off 81 850? reason i ask is I can pick some up w/ fresh rebuild all new gaskets ready to go for $50. gimme some input carb gurus. thanks in advance. by the way, the bike is equipt w/ kerker (no baffle)

    No. Its nearly impossible. The CVs will not mount to the head of a pre 80 750. as a matter of fact, the FIRST 850, the 79, had the same carbs as your 77 750. You're gonna have to bite the bullet and rebuild yours. Dont be scared. Its not hard.

        True. Even some of the early GS1000's were fitted with the same VM26SS carbs. I'm still running the stock VM's on my GS900 and wouldn't change them for anything else.

        Correctly jetted, your present carbs should do the job well.
