must be a turbo..
ET doesn't match MPH.
dude needs to raise his bars maybe 2 full turns...very low.
maybe 2-3 teeth smaller on the rear so engine isn't spinning as hard in 4th and 5th.

I think a more relevant question is why does it take over 6 minutes of video to show us a 9 sec run?
Man that was boring!

It's for the excitement, man! The tension, oh my!
Hehe.
I'm taking the crank to the local machine shop tomorrow to see what they say. If they can pull it off for < $80, works for me. Otherwise, I'll be monitoring fleabay.
I think the piston kit will be a December purchase, hopefully.Comment

Welding it, is what I meant. I talked to them a week or so ago and they say they have done it before, but asked me some strange questions that made me wonder (such as, 'who told you you needed to do this?').Comment

make sure its straight/true and have a weld shop(real weld shop) do it.
FYI
there is no way to balance a press pin crank...match the 4 rods/yes...balance...no.
99% of the crank builders out there do not balance.
falicon in FLA. would be the exception.
im sure someone will want to bust my balls on the balance statement i just made.
they are assembled one cheek at a time and placed in V blocks and checked with a dial indicator and beat around till they run true/weld as you go.
there is no removing or adding of material.
im not sure how falicon does it or if they do.
a crank shop may say"true and balance" but i believe those terms are one in the same when talking about a press pin crankshaft.
insert bearing cranks are a different story(one piece crank/rods are removable).
Big Jay may chime in and shed some more light on the balancing or lack there of that i am talking about.Comment

Crank is at the machine shop, the guy is going to make sure it is true, make sure he can get in to weld it, and call me with a quote.
Dropped off the cases too, $40 sounded pretty reasonable for a jet wash.
woot, progress! I guess I should get the small parts and gaskets ordered.Comment

Gunk and hot water works good for cases.
I've learned the hard way to use motorcycle specialists for such things as cranks and heads.Comment

I was planning on cleaning it myself, but for $40, I'll let someone else deal with the nasty.
I figure if the guy can pull it off for sub $80, then I've saved a few bucks, otherwise I'll just dig up a used, good, already welded crank elsewhere.Comment
