Header Bolts

The basket case GS850 that I aquired had a 4 into 1 but was not attached to the engine. Could someone tell me the size and length of bolt required? Gene

They are 8mm in diameter but the length I don't know on that model. It will depend somewhat on the brand of exhaust also as they all didn't use the same length bolts. Ray.

Someone posted this tip here a while ago. The older Suzuki part numbers indicate bolt sizes in them. Go here:

and look at the exhaust bolt. It's #01500-0835B so the last 4 numbers are the size. 08=8mm diameter and 35=35mm length. Get stainless allen bolts and be happy!

Keep in mind that the stock bolts may not work with your 4 into 1 & that if you use stainless bolts, you HAVE to put "anti-seize" on the threads to keep them from galling in the aluminum! Ray.

You can also use washers if your bolts are a bit too long.
