if you want a bike to go around corners.......
buy a bike to go around corners.
suspension parts cost money and adds weight.
install a set of 400 twin forks w/ one rotor and start trimming weight.

    hahahha
i just read the original post.
just add NOS and poke the button in mid turn.

How so Ed? He seems to be going lower (2.8:1 is stock, IIRC) which will place him at a higher rpm than stock for a given gear/speed, yielding better drive at low / midrange, at the expense of top speed....going with taller gearing would perhaps need a downshift to get in the powerband, to pass with authority.

If the "Current gearing works out to 3.21" and he switches to 2.99, that's the wrong direction. Sounds like we agree though regard gearing lower than stock for increased pick me up.

I got the 530 conversion done yesterday. I went with the 17 and 50. The chain is lighter, rear sprocket was lighter. Odd thing is, the x ring chain was wider than the non roller 630.

I immeditely notice the lack of chain noise. It also felt "smoother"...

Now onto performance. When I said "twitchy" that was not about handling but power delivery, if that makes any since. Before it was like it was TOO LOW geared.

Now it seems like power delivery is smoother. Never had a stock geared one so I can not compare. It seems like I now have more usable time and speed range before I have to change gears...

I will post up the Dyno chart later. my oldest son is graduated high school today!

Think I will install O2 sensor bungs in the headers next and check the tune before I alter anything.
