Any Tig Welders in So Cal?

Anyone got any good contacts? I have a clutch hub that needs the pins welding.

I have a call in with a local guy here in Redondo but I thought I'd put the feelers out in case he can't do it.

I know someone but I have to go to Escondido for it.

I don't want to pay the earth for it if I can help it either.... (but I do expect to pay something).

I'm guessing it will take a good welder about 20mins to button this thing up, it's all clamped & ready to go.

    Hey Dan,
I work with a couple guys who are good TIG welders. If your guy falls through, give me a shout.

Went to see Gary today... Here's his website.

$25 & about 15 mins later I was back out the door. He made it look super easy...!

I'll post a pic up when I get a moment.

He is looking for more work, he likes this small stuff as it's usually cash money & he can "fit it" around his other big jobs.

Now he's done one of these clutches I suspect you can send a clamped one to him through the post if necessary... He can also weld risers onto top triples & things of that nature too...

It is really nice to have a local welder you can go to to get some small jobs done. It is even better to have your own welding kit in case you don't care how it looks and dont have the time to go down.

That's the bad bit about rented housing in such a populated area.... Back in th UK I have both Mig and Gas and can use both reasonably well. Prob better with Mig. I can probably do some reasonably pretty.. Out of practice now though!

I've tried tig before on aluminium at an old place of work. Pretty difficult but with practice I'm sure I'd get there pretty quick....
