Dynatek Dyna S; part number DS3-2; 1977-81 only?

Hi!

The add for Dyna mentions:

Dynatek Dyna S Electronic ignition kit, part number DS3-2. Supposed to fit all Suzi fours 550-1150, 1977-81.

What is used for a 16-valve 82 or 83? I'm asking because I have a 1980 GS1100ET, along with a Dyna DS3-2 ... but have picked up a 1983 engine.

According to dynateks site the DS3-2 is also for the 82-83 GS1100. I seem to recall that some bikes will need the mechanical advancer from a diferent bike. I am sure someone will chime in with the details.

if your model didn't come with a mechanical advance unit...
then you will have to acquire one from an earlier model.

all GS 1100 16 valve models used a mechanical advance unit.
