So from what I have read here, in a GS1000 you should get a better clutch basket(or modify yours), change the nut for it, weld the crank.

Please explain to me the different oil pump gears and associated parts to have a higher pressure oil pump in my bike. Why do I need this in a roller bearing crank?

Straight spline clutch basket. Is this from a 750 and what crank, gear rod combo does it use?

Anything else?

the oil pump gears from a GS750 will give you higher volume oil flow around the engine as the gears are a higher ratio than the 1000. not higher pressure just more volume of flow.
the crank dosent need to be welded but its expensive to get it done right.
the clutch basket, make sure the plates and springs are good, and no play in the shock absorbing springs on the back plate

The GS1000 does seem more prone to clutch hub noise than other GS bikes for some reason, maybe because the basket is open and the noise gets out? You can shim the springs and weld the basket back up if yours makes noise. The cranks are not prone to move so welding is not necessary unless you are building up a hot rod. And same goes for the oil pump gears, not necessary but might be nice if you add an oil cooler.
