        You want the gage as far from the oil pump as you can get it. The cam PSI is you only concern for the oil PSI. the rest of the engine is all roller bearing. Having gage down on cases will not tell you what want to know.

          check out this thread for the 1100 at least. I would assume the 1000 might have similar issues with high flow gears.

            I have used a damper to reduce fluctuations in the pressure reading.

              my strainer just fits into an orifice that is in the bottom crankcase and then goes straight to the pressure switch and associated oil ways. no seperate pipes
