M y '83 GS850L is bogging down in lowend rpms. Any input would be appreciated.

Just the usual stuff. BassCliff will be along shortly with his "welcome" page with all the details, but the most important things are to ensure the basics: valve adjustment, carb cleaning and adjustment, carb synchronization and electrical connection cleaning.
One other suggestion: DOWNSHIFT.
