Direct or with modifications?
I know that you can mix-n-match parts between your 750 and the 850. I think the early 1000's will work but that they require exhaust adjustments.
If you're willing to do some work then you can do anything. I'm running a 1993 Suzuki Katana 750 lump in mine but I had to setup forward and upper mounts. It was an easy way to get 110hp and about 60lbs of torque. I wouldn't want to go to much more powerful than that in these old frames...especially on stock suspension.
Which brings me to a prettyimportant question...what else have you done to the bike? Engine swaps should be about ht elast thing you do. -
The GS 1000 engine bolts right in, it's more powerful, lighter, and smaller than the 750.. You need to make a couple motor mounts, easy peasy..Comment
