A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So I finally picked up my very own GS. Unfortunately the person before me took out the airbox and put pods on it. Also unfortunately they did not rejet the carbs accordingly. Anyone got the specs for jets with pods? I did a pod conversion on my 1980 cb650 so I'm no stranger, just having difficulty finding the info online. Thanks!

Welcome to the nuthouse Zak. You should get a good response to your question which will cover a decent range of fixes. Are you running a 4-1 pipe?

I have the same problem (with V&H 4-1) and have started with 117.5 main jet, 17.5 fuel jet and I dropped the e-clip to position 4. The bike is tucked up for the winter here as I don't want to fire it up and then go through all the carb tuning until the spring.

Maybe you can help me out with your results!!

I forgot to ask, where are you and how about a couple of photos of the bike?

I'm from Philly. Yea 4-1. I wasn't aware I would have to adjust the clip... Never did that before for a pod conversion. I found plenty of resource for jet specs on my podded Honda, how come I can't find any online for the GS?? Its a pretty common mod!

I'll be getting out to the garage this weekend to pull the carbs and check for cleanliness. Although, if the previous owner stuck pods on them, I'm SURE he would've cleaned them out and kitted them. Of course he would have......

I have the pods and a V&H 4-1 on my bike...I want to say im somewhere around a 127.5 for the mains and a 17.5 for the pilots (I could be off, its been awhile since the carbs were off.) I cant remember what I did with the needles though. What kind of pod filters are they? If its the Emgo garbage id say save your pennies and get some K&N's.

As far as I'm aware there are no jet kits available for the 77-79 GS750 - I guess there's just not enough of us around.
