    Welded Rockers?

Saw an engine for sale, it stated "Welded Rockers" to prevent certain GS1100 16V problems.

What? Can someone ecplain what this means?

They weld the ramps on the rockers then regrind the shape so you get a harder surface. Keeps high lift cams from eating up the rockers.

Ok, that makes sense. I was picturing them welded to the pushrod, or some such nonsense... 8O

Stock and mild street cams normally don't require this...the more radical stuff does.

Rockers are the pad that the camshaft lobe runs on with your valve clearance adjustment on the other end. It rocks on a shaft in the head. Welded rockers are only a plus. They are hard welded like some aftermarket camsafts with very hard weld then reground smooth. Much more durable than stockers. Probably not needed on a mild camshaft but its not going to hurt anything for sure.
