Sittin in a garage ssslllloooooooowwwwly coming together.
I was wasting time on ebay looking at gsxr front forks (2008-2010) and I noticed that they have a 6 bolt pattern on their front rotors.
I called Carrozzeria and asked about the bolt pattern. 120mm. hmmm same bolt pattern as the drive hub flange for all the Suzi shaft bikes..... using one of their light weight wheels would shave about 15# over stock. Sans bearings their wheels weigh 7# thats just the rear rim, with a gsxr front end it could be upto 30# of weight saved...
I am wondering if it would be possible to;
a) bolt the flange directly to the wheel (remove pins as they are threaded in)
b)widen the swing arm to accommodate the wheel. I think this would be required. IF bolting onto to outside of the rim, the spline to rim ratio is now moot, as the splines would be sitting on the outside of the rim width vs the inside of the rim width.
c) adding a second u joint to the drive shaft to deal with new angle of the drive shaft.
d) mono shock conversion
Thoughts?
