Yes if you want to destroy the jetting setup and have flat spots in odd places in the rev ranges. Especially if its a cv carb model....
Sure if you get rid of a load of restriction out the silencer, then follow it up with rejetting to suit, you might get rid of most of the flat spots and more power...

If That's what it took for a prformance gain then all the pipe manufacturers would sell Drill motors and bits instead of pipes and jet kits... Hey! maybe I got ripped off! @#&$%*#&!!!!
