If i switch to 15/42 in a 530 chain and sprokets, do I need a 48 rear? I have read the threads a couple times but i get lost in some of the algebra everyone uses and i never really get a straight answer. If you are converted, what is your sproket sizes. Thnaks.

42/15 = 2.80 - 630 chain
48/17 = 2.82 - 530 chain
With 530 you need a bigger small sprocket because the chain pitch (distance between links) is shorter.Last edited by Nessism; 09-18-2013, 05:59 PM.Ed
