GSXR carbs on a GS1100E

Anybody out there fitted gsxr carbs to a gs1100? I have a set of 36 mm mikunis off a gsxr going on a gs 1100 e with filter pods, 4 into 1 and half race cams. Has anybody done anything similar and if so where did you end up with jetting? Does anybody know anything about tuning these carbs? Thanks, Rik

I personally haven`t but several here have. If you research it I think you will find several old posts on it. You may need to go to a dyno jet kit for the pods.

Yeap I'm running GSXR 750 38mm CV carbs on my drag bike only. Engine is 1166cc with G4 cams and I do not use any air filters. The only change to the carbs are 160 main jets. Bike runs great and plugs look good after running. Last year when the bike was still the oem 1075cc i was using 150 jets in my old 34mm CV carbs with pods. Both times I'm using the V&H Pro Pipe.

My 34's had 138 jets in them before and the bike was real lean and when I got the 38's they had 135's in them so I did'nt even brother to test them I just installed 160's and i was flying. As for tuning I've have'nt done much. So I think you should start at 150 and go from there

All I can say is I like them and they were cheap.

Hi this sounds cool,I will be getting a 85/750 parts bike with a low mileage engine.Since my engine has 56000 km on it a engine swap is due soon.
Would 36 cv's from a gsxr work on a big bore 750 with some other mods?

If you have them already why not give them a try. Just pop the bowls off first and see what size jets are in them and compare them to your're old carbs.
