How well would it work? I would have thought they'd be too short?

With a original 16" wheel the 1150 forks are real long (need an extra 1.5" comparing to a 19" wheel). Also the triples for an 1150 are the wides of all GSXR and so they also fit 17x3.5" wheels.

Does it make it handle more like an '86 750?

I have the whole front end from an '85 750 which should be about the same?

Might have to try it out…….

Talk to RapidRay, he likes the 16" as a mod of his GS1100ESD, and probably with the 3.5" wide 1150 rear. I suspect it is about having wider tires from the 1150 as much as the shorter 16" wheel.

            I stick to 2.75x18"F and 4.5x18" 1988 GSXR 1100 3 spoke wheels.

GS 700es with 1150 wheels front and rear, 1150 triples with the 700 forks. Just had to modify the hat spacer up front for width.
