When cold the interface is an interference fit. Anything coated on the cylinder would get scrapped off during installation.Ed

I don't know man, pretty sure no manufacturer bothers with thermal paste or the like in that application. There must be a reason (other than maybe money). I think most of the heat goes out through the head not the cylinders, so even if there was better heat transfer with the paste, I don't think it would have much if any affect.Ed

Ok, thanks! It?s going to get a big cooler with stat. I have 1327cc supercharged GS which is running with E85. It was sometimes difficult to get the engine in normal running temperature.
That other bike I?m building is going to run with gasoline, so the heat can be issue in summer time.Comment
