My verison of the MPS air clutch.

I had posted a picture a while back of the motocross levers made by ASV. Their claim it that they are unbreakable. They have a few nice features. They are very smooth and they allow you to set the cable tension as well as the rate of change. One other interesting feature is how they make the lever bend. I bought one and it really does have a nive feal to it. I took it apart and flipped the spring over. Then tied the thing to an air solenoid. The nice thing is after you have done the burnout and pull to the line, just press the button and let go of the lever and it pops out of the way.

Hey, I may have run into you and not even known it.

On Friday they ran T&T. The locals were on one side and we were on the other. They never mixed the two groups during the night. Had a few cars oil down the track and people were a bit upset. I only saw street bikes in the local crowd. About 10 of them. There are two that stuck in my head. One guy with a very short wheel base car, external starter, blown, injected (I think) and alcohol (I think). It was a very insane ride. When I saw it in the lanes I hung around to watch. At first I thought no big deal, this guy drives here all the time and it should be an impressive run. They get it started and he starts to pull around to the burn out box. I look and what, no bars!! Now I'm thinking this car sounds great but its a dog, or the guy is about to be killed. They have him run alone. Sure enough, he does his burn out and gets the car set to make the run (This has to be the most well preped track in the US! Those people do a great job! I almost lost my boots the first time I was on it. I bring this up because I know this car was going to stick). The lights come down, S H I T the thing is in the air!!! I think it's going over and he shuts it down just in time!! The front end seems to come down so hard that now the a s s end bounces into the air. I swear that the rear tires were at least 3 feet off the ground! 8O 8O Now the car is like a big bouncing ball going down the track. The front end and back end are going all over the place! The driver somehow keeps the thing on the track this whole time!! WOW!! You guys really have the balls in Ohio!! I was glad that he did not lead the way for Darrell Russell.

The second car I liked that you may see around is what almost looked like a cross between an econorail and a Jr. dragster. It was a bit larger than a Jr. but had what appeared to be a twin 2-stroke water cooled engine. Not all that fast or anything but I am into different things. 8)

Hey, as long as your still hanging around this group, did you ever get your bike into the 9's? Seems like this was the big goal this year for you (and a great goal at that). Give us an update. Always interesting to hear what people are doing.

No, It runs just about exactly what it did last year. I changed the head to another one I had on the shelf. I had one of the local car shops put oversized valves in it and 325 lift megacycle cams. Saturday it went 10.12 at 129. Last year in the cold I ran 10.11 @128 with the totally stock head and cams. I took it apart and checked it all over, but everything looks good. I'm wondering if I have less compression with this head than the other one. At this point I'm just going to race it and look at it again this winter.

I just checked out your web site. The bike looks real nice with the red frame. Nice job on the wireing as well. Is the Ford solenoid for starting the bike?

Absolutely. Push button start rules. I have a starter cart in the shed and hope to leave it there.

Do you still get away with a 12V system?

Yes. This is just 1166 low compression motor. Turns over no problem.
