81 Gs 450t advanced time marks

I just paid off a gs 450t never checked compression . Now I'm stuck waiting on a title in the mail and am looking at no compression ... I've tried to time it multiple times . There's alot of play in the screw the screws the advance time on . So maybe my problem is with that . But still not to sure on the marks . Some on told me to put it on the F and others tell me put it on the line after the t . Second question is . Will the timeing beeing off cause it to have no compression ?

Check your other post. The crank to camshaft timing is likely off. The " t" mark is the tdc point . Can you post a pic of your mark? Remove signal coils plate for clarity.
