    Rearsets on a GS450L

    Hi folks
Has anyone fitted rearsets to the above bike. If so, have you got any pictures of the rear brake set up.

    Cheers Paul

Following. I have a GS250T that I've asked the same guestion about.

With a drum rear brake, the geometry of a rod linkage is difficult. Ideally, you want the front end of the rod to coincide with the swingarm pivot center when the brake is applied. That way, the pedal won't rise and fall as the suspension works.
With only a couple of exceptions, when I've converted a drum braked bike to rearsets, I've done a cable conversion. More work but IMO the end product is an easier package.
Given a choice and knowing the amount of work either way, where possible I now convert to a disc rear...

I think the idea is to link the rearset to the original brake lever pivot point

A good idea if there's room. Frequently there isn't.
