will my 79 gs550e forks fit in a gs1150 triple tree? the trees are from an 84/85 gs1150. I already have a gs1150 front tire and would love to be able to put it on my bike. any suggestions on what triple trees i could use if those won't (for my stock forks).

I don't know for sure if your combo will work, but I suspect so.
I've got a 1982 GS750 with 1978 GS550 tubes and 1980 GS1000 triple trees. Used the 750 wheel and had to make spacers to center the wheel and caliper. -

I believe the tube dia are different Won't fit Only thing I had to measure---81 GS750 35mm 81 GS1000 37mmComment
