78 GS750E Front Drive Chain Gear
I ordered a 16 tooth front gear. The current gear is 14 tooth. Is that a Kosher mod?
Thank you! -

2 on the front should sure be a noticeable difference. Rule of thumb, 2 on front equals appx. 6 on back. How much slack in your chain? Will need to loosen the adjusters to get it around the larger front sprocket.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw. This is the sprocket part number. Sprocket - Front - 530 - JTF513 Series - 16 Tooth
I've already been under the cover and looked at the sprocket. Lots of rust but it's all cleaned out. I was there running the new stator wiring. I'll get the 530 chain then. Any particular chain that's best for a renovation?
As far as other issues, it will give me something to do. The only issues I have are the front brakes and the no spark. Soaking the carbs and changing the sprocket/chain will give you guys more time to figure out my shendengen 775 issue
Just kidding! I'm totally grateful to have you guys here to bounce things off of who know a little somin somin about this stuff.Last edited by Guest; 06-26-2020, 08:49 PM.Comment

Thank you! I'm going to hold off for money reasons on this mod.A 530 set will need more teeth than a stock 630 set to keep the same diameter & ratio... Obviously you have to change the whole thing as a set. Front, rear sprockets & a chain.
This thread is probably what you need to look at...
