Great job so far. Keep up the good work.

      Couple of comments...

Not sure if your 750 tach is the same as a 450 tach, but I took off the metal bezel around the top of the gauge by bending the lip back. Once the ring is off, the glass comes off as well. All you have to do is come up with a good pieces of glass to put back on.

Regarding the coils, 1 ohms is not enough resistance. Take a look in your service manual but I think you are supposed to have three ohms resistance. I've heard of people using a ballist resistor from an early Chrysler car to increase the resistance up to a useable level. Something to consider.

      Good luck.

Too bad the V&H guys weren't much help in sorting out what was THEIR screwup on the emblem. Hope you have luck fitting the muffler w/o damaging the pipe.
I graduated from WJ as well. I just haven't made my move to the Eastern Shore (yet)

The mufflers fitted and ready to go.

I like the red/black also but the tank I used was a NOS tank so I couldn't be too picky. Plus it looks gorgeous in person.

And we'll get to ride soon enough. I will be in OC this August for sure with the 750T.

I replaced the tach with another unit I had. I was thinking about doing the cover removal but I just need to find a bad tach to steal the glass off of.

Well I can't claim to not be ordering any more parts... Not until she is done. I am ordering the H4 upgrade for the front headlight, new chrome trim ring and bracket assembly. We'll see what else comes my way.

It's only money, you can't take it with you!

Plus, have you looked at new bike prices these days? Putting a few grand into something you love is way better than pumping $20k in a new Harley.:-?

Time to upgrade the coils and fork springs... I would really like to keep black plug wires. Any suggestions before I double post?

                            Next question guys...
                            I need new grips.

Which ones should I get and what size do I need in terms of length?

Choose from here and post the image of the ones you like for my bike.

are those the stock handle bars? i have an 81 550t and hate my stock bars, much different than yours.

                              btw, very nice bike!

I'm looking forward to seeing this bike in person someday. I'll be in DC the week of September 23rd, we should get together.
