Looking great... thanks for saving another one. Some of my best moto memories were on my 83 1100e. I hope to own another one at some point.sigpic
When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"

Nice work, Ron.
Personal taste but a bit of patina on the engine covers matches the patina of the rest of the bike.2@ \'78 GS1000Comment

Found a used proper sized rim on E-Bay off of an old Kawasaki Dirt bike. Now that the adventure bike people have figured out how to run spoked wheels with out a tube, I'll be changing them over to tubeless. Tubes are a couple of lbs. of unsprung weight, that if it matters to anyone is hard to do. When or if I ever get off my lazy arse and restart my rebuilds, I'll weigh them before I install them.Current Rides: 82 GS1100E, 00 Triumph 955 Speed Triple:twistedevil:, 03 Kawasaki ZRX1200, 01 Honda GL1800, '15 Kawasaki 1000 Versys

Finally found a rear rack for this one! Had to strip and paint it before I would install it. What a PITA it was to install. You need 4 hands to get everything lined up on these!

I'd love to find a rack like that for my GS750ES. I have a similar, that I had to fabricate tubes to get it to fit, even made a very small back rest (I was riding with y 8 year old son). Extremely useful. I have a couple of Tank Bags, and they can be mounted to these.
