83 gs550 - i need help

I was given what I believe is an 83 GS55.... This is the first bike I've ever had and I'm pretty much clueless about everything! The bike sat for I don't know how many years before I got it! I've pulled the tank to work on getting the rust out of the inside, and that's it! Question is, what are my next steps to get this bike on the road?

Carbs, and carbs, you've got 2 of them. For me, by far the most important for a bike that's been sitting for "I don't know how many yrs."... Plenty of info around here, somebody will give a link shortly... Oh yeah, Welcome.

I would suggest going back to the site homepage and clicking on Links (under the Features drop down), and then go to BassCliff's site for a host of helpful guides for various maintenance tasks.
