    Starter Cluch repair, problems…

    I need access to the starter clutch components, it's slipping and I figure it just needs new springs.

    Has anybody pulled the rotor off the end of the crankshaft on an 1100G?

    Looks like it just needs to be pulled off with a gear puller, but it is stubborn. I broke a Harbor Freight gear puller already.

    I got one of these. I had to lean on it pretty hard with a long breaker bar to get it off. You don't want a poor-quality puller. What size thread is your bike? They seem to vary.

      Ok, I can see how that works. Where do I find one?
      My shaft thread reads 35mm.

        After taking the flywheel off and disassembly, the starter clutch was rather damaged but looked repairable, just replace the bolts, springs and pushers.
        Bummer, one of the pushers would not come out of it's hole.
        I got lucky and found a left side cover with a new stator, including a flywheel & starter clutch all in good shape.
        Bike started up, running smooth and is generating 14v.
