I picked this up off a friend. This is my first time working on a motorcycle and I'm extremely curious and excited to learn all I can.
The goal is to keep it close to original. Clean it all up and get it running really well.
Engine seems good... compressions good, spark... starts right up....But was having a hard time idling and stalled out unless you fed it some gas. I already pulled apart the carb and found destroyed o-rings on the intake boots and multiple leaking bowl gaskets. It's been neglected and I will post how dirty everything is/was. I'm on the path of pretty much pulling it completely apart, cleaning and fixing things along the way.
Like i said ill post lots of pictures and look forward and appreciate anyones advice . Fundamentally I'm following the advice in Nessism post for newbies and addressing carbs, valves, fuel delivery possible air leaks and have been cleaning and rebuilding the carbs thanks to his guide.
My first head scratcher is that my #2 carb seems to be a slightly different model than the other 3. It has a small hole on on the lip of the bowl on the air box side. it also duent have the round relief in the middle of the lip on the intake side. Im assuming someone along the way frankensteined the rack. I imagine this will cause problems? all four bowl lids are the same and the small hole does not get covered.
Anyway, I'll make a post with images of the carbs.
