Maybe the most "cobbled-together" bike I have ever purchased!

It's LOUD! The pipe that's on it has the end cap drilled out, so it rattles windows in the neighborhood when I start it! That pipe needs a baffle badly!Originally posted by Big BlockRon

Well...........I just couldn't help myself.
Got tired of looking at this bike in the garage needing so much love......so I decided to do a full restoration on it! (What was I thinking?)
Anyway, I picked up the frame, swingarm and center stand from the powder coaters today, so hopefully the re-assembly can begin soon. Had a small issue with the engine rebuild so it may be next week before I can stick the engine in the frame. I'm going to try wet sandblasting the paint off of the engine. We shall see how that goes.
I'm really happy with the results of the powder coat. I've used the same guy for the last 3-4 bikes and the frames keep looking better each time.

I've been stockpiling most of the parts that it needs, and cleaning up stuff as I removed parts, so the re-assembly should go relatively quickly.
I hope to have it on the road by the BC rally this year!
Maybe I should just head south when it starts snowing next year?

Still waiting on a few engine parts so I went ahead and started the reassembly process.
It's nice to finally get it on the lift and to see some progress being made.

Now to figure out how much I can add to it without affecting the engine installation.Ron

Got the engine rebuilt. Time to get the black paint off of it! This is what it ended up looking like:

Used my pressure washer with a sandblaster attachment on it. It made quick work of the rattle can paint. Now to add some silver rattle can paint!

It's starting to come together! Had a neighbor help stick the engine back in the frame this afternoon.
It's actually starting to look like a motorcycle again!

Got the recovered seat back on it, along with a new Delkevic stainless exhaust.
