Old riding buddy gave me this.
A long time riding buddy was a big GS fan, Had a 550, a few 850 projects and a 1000. He worked in the auto paint business and had the 550 and 1000 done up like Wes Cooley reps. We kinda drifted apart because he started a new job that had him on the road but we text from time to time. He had quit riding a couple of years ago and this week he text with a pic of the 550 and said come get it or find someone that wanted it. Now i had worked on, tuned and ridden this bike many times so it had to stay in the family. I had one back in the day and loved it. SO here it is, sitting since 2010. Tank is questionable and i haven't looked at the carbs yet. Came with a 4 inti 1 Kerker pipe and we had done Fox shocks, Progressive fork springs, fork brace, Superbike front fender and braided brake lines. Let the fun began. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

And we thought Christmas was over 3 months ago, gues we were wrong... I started to answer your other post, but wasn't sure about the GS550's. the L wheel is a cast, your bike has a spoke. Just say'in on GS1000's & GS1100's to swap a rear spoke wheel to a rear cast wheel, one of the spacers, thinking the one on the brake side, has got to be for the wheel it was made for... Welcome to The GSR and good luck.Last edited by rphillips; Today, 10:26 AM.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw. Not matter what bike is used for, the cast wheel needs the spacer for the cast wheel... A thought that don't matter, your picture looks waaay too good to be butchered, You can make a bobber out of anything you find in any an old shed, fence row, or leaning against a tree out back. Just say'in, you do know you can line the gas tanks to take care of rust inside.1983 GS1100E, 1983 CB1100F, 1991 GSX1100G, 1996 Kaw. ZL600 Eliminator, 1999 Bandit 1200S, 2005 Bandit 1200S, 2000 Kaw.
