piece of thick walled chromoly, but I need to move it to change the attitude of the seat.

is it possible to take a 450 without a kicker and put a kicker on it? i hate only having electric start
from what I've heard, no. If you find something, keep me posted.

ordered my new back tire waiting patiently.
    looks like this

time!!! tell me about it. kick start is a rough one, I'd like one to since I like to have a backup way to get home.

props to u bro. best build thread ever. now i have more motivation to build mine up more propper. i got a gs 500 gas tank and have an xr500 baja tail. i think i might part was with it and set it up more bobber than street tracker. u gave me great leads to more ideas and u have dope creativity. and thx for the bike porn.

swapped out the fork since it needs a rebuild and I won't have time, so the other one works well and will have to do for now.

made a light bracket to replace the old one. gotta dress it up a little, but you get the idea. I haven't decided on the size headlight I'm gonna run.

so for today, I started the bike using the old tank and it sounds good. I took out my orbital sander and did the tank the way I had planned. had this pic saved on my photobucket for some time, its on billy lane's panhead, this is his back fender

I was not going to do it the same color but it was already red and I only had green spray paint

no work today, but a quick update.
    -waiting on petcock
    -gotta trouble shoot the clutch
    -bleed front brake
    -change oil
-I think I'm going to run the stock exhaust until I jet the carbs

after this stuff I'll be done and I can take it apart, paint the frame, shine it up, and put it back together

Sounds to me like cable flex, maybe? The lever moves the cable much farther than the barrel adj. Close up pix of the lever in action? I just had to help a friend with a Buell diagnose a similar issue.

if so it sounds like the cable might be bad or binding. or maybe bad springs on the clutch
no, it returns fine, just pulling it does nothing. you can adjust the barrel adjuster to have the clutch engaged or disengaged and it will either grip or not and pulling the lever does nothing

here is my question, its hard to explain but I'll try

the clutch engages totally when the barrel adjuster is out and it can't be disengaged with the lever.
