I will of course be expecting to see the restoration thread........................after you are done with the 450.
Cheers Stan! Yeah not sure how I lucked into this one, but if I can get it running it will be a really cool little project

Actually it'll probably be a bigger project than the 450... the internals are apparently comparable to a Swiss watch

And yes, the 450 is being done first, no doubt about that whatsoever

          Plan A:
          1. Restore.
          2. Make huge profit.
          3. Finance Bathurst Katana Project.

Yeah... parts fiche shows 3 bearings for the rear wheel, only two in that package... I've emailed the seller to find out if I ordered the wrong set or if there is indeed one bearing missing...

            Front ones look ok though...
I bought my fork seals from the same place. I was a bit shocked when I got them. I find it strange that the company's logo is a eye of providence (The all seeing eye - aka Illuminati aka new world order!)....

The seller also says they are in Australia, which they are not, they are in NZ. So I found it a bit shady...seals looked good though ! haha.

Hmmm... Bathurst Katana Project... hmmm... actually a stock/restored 750 popup would do me nicely... or a T500...

              I like you're thinking Leigh

New world order? Is that what I'm financing with this purchase? What was wrong with the old world order?

Yeah I was under the distinct impression they were coming from Australia too, but the postage definitely originated from NZ.

I'm also *still* waiting for a reply to my message. He better answer soon or negative feedback goes on and I'll look for some elsewhere...

I used to really, really, really like the popups too.
Then Ross let me go play on his big Kat.
                I was sold.

Haha yeah I think the 750 will still do me just fine if my wrist can cope with the riding position.

Given my 450's enough for what I generally want, I would think a 750 would be more than fine for me

Of course I could always just get one of each... and a new garage to put them in

Ok, first off, finally got a reply from the eBay seller I got the wheel bearings from, and it turns out that they supply the third bearing separately as it's actually for the sprocket carrier rather than part of the wheel.

It would be nice if they could highlight that as part of the auction, but at least I know what the deal is and it's a whole extra $8.00 to get it to me, so that should be on its way soon I hope.

Anyway, got this in the post today:

One brand new back-ordered fuel tap:

It even has an O ring... means I didn't need to buy one separately but it's a bit hard to tell from the fiche if it came with it or not, so at least now I have a spare.

Certainly looks a lot better than the old clapped out one:

And in case you're not following my paint thread, the tail piece has had putty applied and is currently being sanded:

Got an awful lot more sanding and potentially more puttying to do yet...

They had to make the putty pink didn't they?
