Pete, if you're looking for a new project I'll sell you my fleetline for $1000. But you have to cover shipping

Yeah that looks like what he described, in line blocks is what he said, but not knobbies, and he said they handle fine on the road and are definitely road biased.Pete,
I think these are probably what he was talking about... They were used a ton on the dual sport bikes back in the day.
This is what I was going to run on my tracker... you know before I started stealing parts from it haha
And yes, I know about the parts stealing
Yes! And I seem to recall him mentioning MT43 now that you remind me... thanks guys
Awww but Leigh! Hahaha
Actually I was contemplating the Drysdale V8...
Hahahahaha awesome! How many cylinders? HahahaComment

Hahaha... I dunno sounds like too much exercise for this little black duck
Yes and yesHehehe..

AMCN had an article on him not so long ago and covered the Carberry Enfield then... very tasty
Awwww man... stop it! You're distracting me!
But yes, if that little Ducati works out then a vintage board tracker would be something very interesting to recreate...
The big question would be where to acquire a vintage bike for a reasonable price, but that's not a question I'm asking yet, everything is full speed ahead to get the 450 done first

Well of course... and here I am across the pond with a big old '80s Concord mountain bike with a chrome-moly frame that I've been looking for an engine to make one myself.Comment

Haha that'll make a nice project one day
My brief 30 second thought on it is to get something older though... '60's at least preferably older... make it the real deal... of course that would make it steel and I'll probably have some rust to take care of, but that's all part of the fun right

Well, no idea what I'm going to do with it right now and I'm not going to spend any more time on it until after the 450 is done... well maybe not much time anyway
Tank has surface rust on the outside but I couldn't budge the filler cap to see what it's like inside. It feels solid though. Also appears to be straight and just needs cosmetic work outside.

The rest...

No idea what this is but it's a Ducati part...

You can see it has teeth on the back like a sprocket runs around inside it or something... ain't got a clue right now.
What a beast:

World's smallest carb?

Awesome score Pete, you lucky bugger.

What I assume to be one of the first desmo setups?

Fuel line?

Another bit like the other bit... two halves of a whole? I think these actually attach to the pedals given some YouTube video's I've seen...

Various odds and ends like brackets and spark plugs which leads me to believe that everything should be here to mount it:

And I suspect the box it came in is as old as the engine itself...

So there we go... as to what to do... board tracker? Not really an authentic use as board track racing was over by then, so maybe just a vintage pushie with the motor mounted? Maybe a Cucciolo racer?
