Just Unloaded it and pulled my 250 up for size comparison.

looks pretty mean! was it set up as a drag-bike (is there such thing as a 450 drag bike? ) because of the wire wheel?

No, The previous owner got this bike as a teenager and rode the hell out of it and then let it sit for many years.

Part of me want to go solid black on the whole thing, but for now I lean towards restoring to the Original look.

Found this as I started tearing it down tonight and it really cracked me up. Had to share.

Still working on breaking everything down. I am almost there. Man I can't wait to get to the point of putting everything back together.

I know how you feel... I've nearly got everything dismantled now, just the head to go really.

Getting the frame and crankcases were my biggest hurdles, frame is done, need to touch up the bottom crankcase but it will then be done too.

So once the frame paint cures I can do some reassembly such as swingarm, side and centre stand and battery box at least.

That gives me something achievable soon to see some results from my efforts

In other words... go for it, you will love it when it comes together

Just got my shock mounts replaced. ended up take my frame to a custom builder near me and he put them on and touched up the welds on the frame and replaced a rusted section under the seat. Now I can start getting ready to paint the frame. I can't wait, now I will actually get to start putting it back together. I am looking forward to taking on the motor....that is going to be an interesting learning experience.

Mine's slowed to a grinding halt at the moment, hopefully I can resume real soon.
