    Finished the 1100

Got the GSX1100ET finished today. All original apart from loads of polished stainless fasteners, braided hoses and the seat cover (which I don't like - an original will be on it's way).

This is the one that arrived in boxes and has had everything done apart from the bodywork. The only marks are on the tank where the helmet warning sticker once resided (a new helmet sticker will sort that) and a couple of small chips on the bottom seam (some silver or chrome edging will hide that).

Runs perfectly and pulls like a train. Time for a decent ride.......

    79 GS1000S
    79 GS1000S (another one)
    80 GSX750
    80 GS550
    80 CB650 cafe racer
75 PC50 - the one with OHV and pedals...
75 TS100 - being ridden (suicidally) by my father

We're likeminded - shame it's so ugly as it's a really nice job in heavy duty leather. Vinyl original will have to do with the replacement.

i am sure you could find a nice replacement somewhere (ebay) and get your money back by selling it somewhere (ebay)

Very nice. May I ask where you found an original seat cover?

They are standard emblems for the 80 /81 bikes - 750's have the same (apart from the numbers of course). They turn up on Ebay UK or these guys will probably have them new: http://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/

If not try these guys (though delivery time is painfully slow): http://www.cmsnl.com

It will be a replica of the original from these guys: http://www.motorcycleseats.co.uk/index.html

(Haven't asked them yet but I'm sure they'll do one).

Drat. It would be across the pond. Let us know what they end up charging.
