Both Dee and I are using the stock axle. I gained a little length by grinding down the underside of the axle head. You can gain some by grinding the outside of the caliper hanger if you haven't already done it. I'm using a different nut and just cranking down on it hard no Locktite. It's never backed off in thousands of miles.

Got it together! Im thinkin I need to find a lower profile nut for my axle now. Also need to order a new chain as mine is WAY to small. I thought I would be ok as my old sprocket was 47t and the one I have mounted up ow is a 45t but I guess I thought wrong. My sprocket offset isnt to far off, havent measured yet but Im guessing its about 1/8th" off just by looking. Ill get out there sometime and measure it all up.

Just messing with you... I don't care

Headlight ears were custom made but you can get 41mm ones on Ebay.

Oh ok. My forks are 43mm, cant really find any I like. Maybe ill just pick up something cheap for now until I can make something or find something better. Dan, are you using digital gauges or something? They look so small. I just mounted my stock ones till I figure out what else to rig up. Definetly dont like them though, they look WAY to big and chunky.

It is kinda funny how they have the same paint job though.

When I was using a second generation 43mm fork I cut my own out of some aluminum plate. They may not show up great in the picture but they were a little tribal looking. I just used the triple clamps pinch bolts to mount the brackets.

ok........I straightened up my rear wheel and put a straight edge on the rear sprocket to see how much offset there was. Lets just say I think I need to get a different carrier. We are talkin 3/4 of an inch!!! I saw that e few of you recommended the gs550 rear carrier. I cant use that because I have a 5 paddle rear wheel.I am totally stumped! Chain will be here wednesday and I was hoping to get it all together. Any more ideas????? I found a stock gsxr carrier, will that possibly work?

GS500 not 550! The newer twin model from early to mid 90's. That is 5 paddle and lower profile.

                            GSXR is 6 paddle.
