The shape of the tank and the shiny bit got me thinking about a polished steel tank..
Then I came to my senses..
Any of you lot ever ridden an old BSA with a nice shiny tank?
    I have..
On a sunny day it's bloody annoying.

So I thought polished sides and blue or matt black top.

In the end I've decided just to go back to a solid blue..
Properly prepared and applied this time

Aaaah good point! You just made me remember I thought about that... sheesh... memory's not what it used to be... still polished sides would be nice indeed.

Properly done blue will be nice though

Hahaha... Do you yell back "I wouldn't keep messing with it if you'd just get down here and do it"?

            He moves a bit slow.

Hail the return of the prodigal son..

                        Hi guys..
Apparently someone switched my life from "Hectic" to "Ludicrous Speed" while I wasn't watching.

                        So, what have I missed?
I guess I have some serious trawling through threads to do.

                        What have you missed?
Well, you missed the launch of the Fat Girl on her debutante ball

Yes! She made it out into the sunlight.
The tank still looks bad. I've had some painting issues to the point where my mate, the painter, has told me if I touch it again he will have a pair of dangly things to decorate his bike with. My dangly things apparently.

The occasion was the 30th birthday party that Ross, a mate, had planned for his Kat.

When he announced it on the other forum I haunt, there were 7 of us that stepped up to say we had 30 year old bikes.

In the end it came down to two complete bikes and a couple of pieces of Mick's MHR. but he brought a reasonable facsimile..

Here's a couple of photos that sum up the evening..

                        The Fat Girl..

Ross and two not so fat girls..

When they hopped on, the blonde cooed "Mmm, this feels nice". My knees buckled.

Craig turned up with this. It had 68k's on it.. Brand spanking new. Meet Mr. Black.

                        This..

                        ..and this..

                        ..lead to this..

The young cop in his mid-20s stood in front of a bunch of drunken, giggling 40+ lads and said, hands on hips, "Why don't you lot just grow up a bit!".
It was too much for us and we all burst out laughing.

A successful outing I would say..

The bike started and ran like a dream every time.
The slightest touch on the starter had her barking to life. No winding on of the starter at all.

the one little oddity I noticed was some very slow blinkers.
Very slow. If I put the headlight on they blinked once and figured that was all they needed to do..

I'm staring suspiciously at the rec/reg.
                          Maybe the battery.
What say you, Oh trusted brains trust?

Mate that sounds like you're having a blast! Nice

Gotta say the GS has turned out well even if the tank paint's dodgy, gotta love that quick startup!

As for your slow blinkers, what says the trusted multimeter in the voltage department?

It could be just the 30 year old indicator relay crying enough too...

                                Thanks fellas..
You should see the photos I can't post up. Haha..

I've spent the last few weeks trying to catch up on stuff I've neglected of late.
Saturday wil lbe spent bringing the shed back to scratch, wheeling the bike back into pride of place and seeing what I can figure about the electrics.

Then I'll be covering everything in the shed with black plastic and waiting for Thommo to arrive with his spray guns..
