      ED, the job you were doing on that bike was great when I was there. Thanks for the tach cable donation (again), and by the way, it's still working fine. I reviewed my mileage since I installed my front tire in April, and I now have amassed 12,361 or close to that since then. I would be afraid to do that with the showpiece you have there, I'd scratch the paint or ding a header pipe or something, and it'd probably be in the first week of riding.

          Thanks for the kind words guys. It's much appreciated after all the work I've put into this thing.

          Bought this one in February so it took me about 6 months to complete. Russr33 did all the leg work regarding the purchase since the bike was in Houston (he hauled the bike home and stored it until the shipper could pick it up). The engine was hot rodded when I got the bike, so returning it back to stock, mostly, added to the challenge. Russ and I did a cylinder head swap where he got the big valve head and cams that where on this thing and I received his low mileage stock head in return, plus some extra restoration money. The big bore kit was sold on ebay and another member here supplied me with some low mileage pistons and a cylinder. Rusty_Bronco (Dale) gave me a nice front fender, and various other members help out with parts as well (sorry, my memory is bad and I can't remember everyone's name). As always, the GSR brethren to the rescue. The most amazing story of help came when a guy named Pete Phipps saw photos of my first S and sent me a message asking if I wanted some real ST exhaust pipes for FREE. Needless to say I took him up on the offer! Russ helped out again since the pipes were in his area; he picked them up and shipped them my way. The pipes are in amazing shape other than that one dent on the RH side muffler. I'll tend to that one day but needless to say, I'm not complaining.

                        Used VHT rattle can paint on the engine, the only rattle can paint on the bike. Thought about Stirling Silver but didn't go that way for reasons that escape me. The VHT is pretty stinky as it bakes and cures, hope that is indicative of taking a good chemical resistant set.
