Hello stranger, oi, Paul, what is the state of play on that machine of yours?
If it is taking a back seat to the dueling and jousting, the least you can do is let us have a lookee see with some pics and stories in Off Topic.
Sorry HD, hijack off.

Last nights progress. Using some spray adhesive and thin 1/2" foam, I started attached it in sections. Starting in the center and worked my way out to the edges to keep from getting a wrinkle.

Here I had just done the top, front, and back, keeping it smooth and taught until the adhesive had set, then rolled it over to do the sides.

This is the outcome, just enough to hide and imperfections in the glass and give me a smooth base for the cover. I just tucked the excess underneath for the pics because wanted to wait to trim it off and let everything dry just in case there was any shrinkage.

Wow, very nice. I really like the engine paint job with the silver and black. How do you get it so clean that the paint sticks? Did you remove any of the major components like the head or cylinder prior to painting?

Thanks for the props Sci85,.actually spent A LOT of time degreasing / scrubbing, using a wire brush and scotchbrite on the engine. Last step was a bath with rubbing alcohol and a blow gun to get it all prepped for paint.
No I did not pull the head or cylinders. First I shot the black then masked it off at the parting lines and shot the silver.Comment

Now that I have my exhaust bolts tapped I'm definitely going to focus on cleaning my engine so it'll look like yours lol.Comment

Monday update:
Didn't get nearly as far as I wanted to on the seat this extended weekend. Life got in the way with the Holiday family time and putting up decorations for the next big ta-do.
I was able to get a newspaper pattern made, then cutting and marking of the two pieces of Vinyl.

Lined up my marks and pinned them together.

Then while the wifey was at work yesterday, I got the Honey-do list completed and had my chance. I then spent TOO long trying to find our new storage spot for the sewing machine. When I did it was still loaded with the ulpholstery thread that had used about 2 years ago... I was also reminded that my 22 year old daughter (youngest) hasn't a clue how to use a sewing machine and has absolutely no desire to learn.
Anyhow, this is the completed cover, maybe tonight I can start the install.
