Had most of the bodywork off but it seems like I'm just to into the GPz to do the repaint now.The plan now is to get the GPz finished and ride-able then get to the GS.Was just missing to much riding weather.

Guest repliedYeah it was a kinda stupid thing to happen. Not exactly unpredictable given the conditions
Have a new paint poll going to http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...nt-my-750-poll .
My wife had plans for the day with the truck, she was expecting me in to.My car is having issues so that was out. It's the time of year here when if it's clear the temps go past freezing especially at 4 am when I head to work.I know that but thought it would be OK.
Yeah the giant forest rats have figured ways past the guard

Frost on the seat would send me scrambling for the truck keys.
Tough luck, Greg.
I am assuming the deer have the cattle guard solved?Leave a comment:

Guest repliedOuch Greg, that sucks! Still, at least you have the incentive for that new paint now

Guest repliedUnder the ride I should NOT have tried today
From front to back:

My first clue I should not have been trying to ride was scrapping frost off my seat. The second was the bike that always starts up real nice didn't,had a heck of a time keeping her lit.The third was me lying on my back after going over the cattle guard(there in a vain attempt to keep deer out of the park)watching my bike slide down the driveway. It was time for a repaint anyway as the red and black had developed a bad case of lumpy paint
Bike commuting has ended for the year

Guest repliedBeen thinking about redoing the paint again, the right side and nose of the fairing are bubbling up badly. My prep work wasn't good enough
So I'm thinking I might go back to yellow or maybe orange as the wife HATES orange

Guest repliedI got some extra discs for the Supertrapp,CMSS had 6 at a good price and very reasonable shipping.Put all 6 in and it's just a little loud but the trade off is it really fells alot more uncorked with 15 discs.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedA lesson on why you need to take brake parts apart and clean them.My rear brake was coming on without me pushing the pedal.Wasn't obvious what was happening at first but it was gradually it got worse,to the point I couldn't push the bike myself.Could go back a bit later and all would be good.Took off the MC and once I removed the reservoir port I seen the problem.A blob of stuff was sitting over the return port.It was fluid enough to clog it intermittently
The circlip on that MC was to rusted to come out so I pulled one out of the stash, took it apart and put it in the ultrasonic for a cycle.Got my instrument glass from Joe Whellan to
On oil leaks either.

Guest repliedThe old seal I put in leaked as bad as the one in the bike.Ordered a new one from the closest stealership, wasn't even to badly priced.Thought I might need a new stator cover gasket to as I have a leak there to.Looked at bottom bolt to see it wasn't clamping down
Pull it out and it's WAY to long
Slipped a shorter one in,hoping my leaks are done.

Guest repliedHave had a small oil leak for a while, just a few drips every ride.Till I got it back on the road,it started dripping a lot more(by my standards).I thought it was the gear indicator sensor. No it turned out to be the clutch push rod seal.Looked it up in the Parts Outlaw fiche and said to my self "That's what that thing is".Searched a bit and found it,fortunately it was better than the one in the bike.Put it in and when for a good tear(by my standards) with a friend. Not one drop
