I was happy with his telp Pete .

I'm not quite that fast a worker, nor can i accelerate the 4+ hour cure times of varnish. One that's done I need to do a couple of other things before i can deem it a success.

I've got a bit of mucking with the suspension (hopefully doing that is the end of it) to do over the next few days if/when I get a chance. Along with that l also have to find time to get the RF pinkslipped over the next week or so.

Oh I got some parts from Geoff on another forum (Perth Street Bikes), I was chasing down a right headache of a problem with the bikes carbs and some really bizarre symptoms. I've also got another thread on here with me "talking the problem through" and getting an answer, the carb caps were deformed & leaking!

p.s. the aquarium stand is making a lot of progress (piclink).

    How did the carbs work?.
Any parts required for the choke, I've got a cable and handle bar lever I think, will have to have a look next time I'm home (1st w/end in sept). what i do have if you still need/want one is a H4 headlight.
    Cheers Geoff.
Hey Geoff, thanks again for those carbs, They turned out to be a bit of a lifeline in what ended up being an arduous and painful diagnosis process. I had to shelve my carbs due to stripped thread on the body but used most of the internals from mine once i checked and compared them as i knew they were ok. As to the rest of the carbs, i used bits and peices in a trial & error method and finally got everything working properly again.

H4 headlight, I'm interested, very interested. You and I need to have a talk .

Hahaha yeah just ask the guys I work with... if there's a pun for the taking I'll be the first...

At least you had yourself a good break! My senior engineer heads over there at the end of this week so I think he just missed the bad stuff...

Had a quick look through the pic's, definitely looks like you had fun!

Haha on the puns, i knew i'd get something, just wasn't sure of how bad they'd be. I'm going to have a go at getting a fair bit done in the morning when i get home from work.

As to the holiday, things went well, aside from the fact we had to endure man-made snow topups as there wasn't a drop of natural snow while we were there. I guess it must have been storing it all up to dump in the one hit. We lost out our Saturday (well most of it) to high winds and poor visibility, the Sunday was closed due to snow blocking the access road. It was a beautiful day on Monday when we left, and then 1 or 2 days after we came home there was a metric crap-tonne of snow all over the place.

Still had a blast though, that's the main thing. (pics, lots and lots of pics).

I dunno, all sounds a bit fishy to me Mike... sorry couldn't help myself

Hurry up with the tank already ok? I wanna see bike progress

How was the holiday by the way? Did you get stuck in the snow storms or did you manage to avoid them?

Still no big updates unfortunately, next step is to sort the suspension out, the right fork was leaking fluid and dumped its load on the floor. Having realised i forgot to pinch the valve retaining bolt up tight, i did so and am not yet sure if it fixed this issue .

However in the time between realising this and "getting around to refilling the tube to see if it leaks" i have acquired a 140litre fish tank and stand, dirt cheaply. With the latter being in a pretty poor state, and needing work to make sure it's strong enough for me being happy with using it. Unfortunately the only storage space available for the tank during this "rejuvenation" of the stand is the space situated between the two bikes in my single-car garage.

Hopefully i can get it sorted out sooner rather than later, but the more i think about it, the more comfortable i am with tearing a whole bunch of wood out and redoing the lot. Which although great for making a stable aquarium, makes some serious delays in getting the bike thing sorted out that little bit more.

Looks great Mike! And yes, +1 on bumpy tyres, definitely need some dual sports to make it look right with all that new ground clearance you have!

Have a safe flight and a great holiday!
