Take a roll of gorilla tape on that first ride... never know what for, just might come in handy.

I like the lines of the bike... sleek, minimalistic look.

                Ah I get ya!

Hopefully he's too busy working on the bike to check the light metre and adjust the AF levels on his phone-cam

                      Just kidding!

Today's first order of business was solving the front axle issue:

What do you do when you have a lathe, but you haven't gotten it going yet and your drill press chuck/shaft keeps falling out? Well of course you turn it on it's side and file down that bushing that was too big!

Ok so now it fits the rocker plates but it's a little too long still:

So I cut the non-threaded end off, shortened it, and welded a large axle nut on that end:

So what do you do when your axle fits right? Obviously the only thing to do is roll it outside for the first time!

Now this didn't take all day, but I ran some errands, cut the grass, and ate lunch before I started... Also I finished gas welding the tank, but I need to clean it up and find any pinholes before it will be done. Maybe I'll get a headlight mount and kickstand done tomorrow?
