No problem FC, if I ever get around to the engine I'll see how my valves are also. Makes me wonder if they have the same cam gears as what your dealing with.Comment

That's an awesome job you have done there sir. I'm eventually going to do that to mine but I want it running and ridden before I do a full teardown/rebuild/make pretty hopefully this winter.Comment

Did a little painting today. Will wet sand it tomorrow to clear those bad spots and put another coat on it. This is my first time painting some thing so it's what I expect.

What kind of paint did you use for the frame?
I don't know if you dig it or not but I would remove those extra stickers on the gas tank
. A heat gun works great! Or maybe you're planning on repainting the body work too?
Looking good!Comment

The stickers will be coming off and I hope to paint the tank and stuff within the year.
The black on the frame is High Heat Engine paint. It looks ok, not the best but not bad.Comment

The frame is looking good, a bit of sanding here and there and a touch up and it will be better than new, job well done, keep up the quality work.

I haven't even really started on mine yet and you're more than halfway there, it's looking real good

I'm slowly getting there. I just got a bunch of parts in and am starting to put it back together.
How hard is it to replace the swing arm bearings? I have some new ones and will changing them out soon.Comment

I got the swing arm bearings out and replaced them. It was easier than I thought it would be. The new ones went in very easly. I went ahead and painted the swing arm black for now. Will be updating to a newer one later so it's ok.
Bought a polishing wheel so trying to get some of the parts looking as good as possible. The rear fender had a piece missing and was cracked. Found one on Ebay from a 82 GS750 for 17.00 and drilled the three holes out for the light mounting bracket.
I was going to paint the engine but I want to get it running so I think for now I'll hold off on the engine painting.
I'm going to check the valves tomorrow and see about putting it back together.Comment

@Tech73 Have you looked closely at the brackets that hold the light, mine had two hairline cracks in each of them that needed to welded.
