Larry is hard at work on my S parts. He was kind enough to send some progress pictures. Parts were in great shape, with only a couple of imperfections.

OK where are you in Mass.?

Most of the state is only about 3 hours from me, and I am looking for weekend projects. I also have my shim box and mercury sticks with me.

            Hey Steve,

Valves have not been adjusted yet. However, I am focusing on the cosmetic stuff now. I have the front end torn down for polishing and brake rebuilding. I am not sure if it would be a good time to adjust the valves?

PERFECT time to adjust the valves.

One of the requirements before adjusting the valves is to assure that the engine has not been run for at least 8 hours.

By the way, most of us tend to make sure the bike runs well before spending the time and money on cosmetics.

I agree with Steve about being the perfect time to do the valves. I'd take him up on his offer.

Here is a couple of progress pics (before and afters) of the front end. Caliper paint looks a little too shiny for my liking. I was not able to commit to a wheel paint. So for know, I will stick with the clean, faded original look. Which I think is an exceptable look.

Are those NOS brake lines? Date code looks like it's 32 years old?

Actually......those are the original brake lines. I have not selected a supplier of new lines. I am hoping to find some NOS ones before spring rolls around.

Mine is a '79, and it was underneath as well, but I moved it up to the dash hole.

Scotch brite pads and some Honda metal polish.
