I ratchet strapped the front end about 3 inches lower and it had a killer stance. Kinda want to see if it will ride wheelies first though hahaComment

Hahaha cool, it's looking like it'll be a barrel of fun I can tell ya... can't quite imagine it 3 inches lower but I'm sure you got it all figured out already
You need some dual sport tyres on that thing too... and a high pipe...Comment

Well a friend of mine has some old racing shocks from his xs650 that I may try on the back. That should raise the back a hair... then maybe lower the front and inch or two and it should have a killer stance, and most likely handle great as well. But if it does killer wheelies, I might just have to leave it be!
I'm still looking at tires for 16/19 wheels that are on/off road... I'm still thinking about pipes too.... can't decide if I want a 2 into 1 or what exactly...Comment

Cool, should be plenty of room to slide the forks through the trees a bit by the looks.
Shinko does 244's and 705's in a number of sizes. The other major brands have limited sizes in comparison...
And if you're patient on the pipe, I should have mine back before too much longer if you wanna see that... mind you I expected to be getting it back today but that ain't happening!Comment

Well I zip tied my battery on and started it up. Seemed to be running just like it left off so I grabbed my helmet and took it down the gravel drive... All seemed well so I took off down the road a couple miles. Made sure to watch my back since I don't have a taillight just yet, but I live out in the country so it's all good. Rode great! Smooth as butter! Wow it's been so long since I've ridden a swingarm bike haha.
Anyways it felt great and I liked the leverage of the wide bars so when I turned back on to the gravel drive I leaned a little and gave the throttle a solid twist... Sideways is so fun! Oh man I'm gonna want more of that haha.Comment

Awesome stuff! Glad it's a hoot and it ain't even finished yet! How was the ride on the metal seat?
Your 'bars look a lot like mine too, I tried to go a bit wider and motorcrossish (if that's a word) for the whole scrambler thing, but also to make sure I had some good leverage.
Sounds like you're gonna have a blast on it! Nice work!Comment

Yeah it's fun for sure... metal seat is fine, shocks do wonders! haha
I just noticed my thread has one star... guess that means my bike won't ever make the front page
